WHAT: National Archives eighth annual Genealogy Fair

This two-day program showcased the Federal records located at the National Archives as resources for family history research.
The fair provided information and guidance for experienced genealogy professionals and novices alike. The fair was free and open to the public with no registration.

Sessions included workshops on records relating to census, immigration, land, naturalization, military, online resources, and more. See the presenter's biographies and handouts.

Exhibitors

Exhibitors included National Archives staff and guest organizations who demonstrated how to use Federal records and other resources for genealogical research.

WHEN: Wednesday and Thursday, April 18 & 19, 2012

Sessions & Exhibits, April 18 and 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

HOW: Presented in partnership with the Foundation for the National Archives and with support from Lead Sponsor Ancestry.com.

WHERE: National Archives Building, 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC

This year the sessions and exhibits were outside and in tents on the grounds of the National Archives Building.
Food trucks were onsite.
Researchers continued to use the building as usual. Please see Information for Researchers at the National Archives Building in Washington, DC.

The closest Metro stop is the Archives/Navy Memorial stop on the Yellow and Green lines. The National Archives is fully accessible. To request an accommodation (e.g., sign language interpreter) please e-mail reservations.nwe@nara.gov or call 202-357-5000 at least two weeks prior to our events.
