As part of the America the Beautiful Quarters^® Program, the United States Mint introduced the America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Sets to honor the Nation’s national parks and other national sites.

Each three-coin set features an uncirculated quarter from the United States Mint at Philadelphia, an uncirculated quarter from the United States Mint at Denver and a proof quarter from the United States Mint at San Francisco with images specific to each national site. The coins are held in a durable plastic card and include a brief description of the site and the coin, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity on the back of the card.

The America the Beautiful Quarters Program features designs depicting national parks and other national sites. Each year five new national site designs are depicted on the reverse (tails side) of the America the Beautiful Quarters. The United States Mint will issue these quarters in the order in which the honored sites were established as national sites.

The Chickasaw National Recreation Area quarter is the fifth to be released in 2011 and the 10th overall in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. Chickasaw National Recreation Area exists as a part of the national park system to commemorate the Chickasaw Nation and its cultural history, historic landscapes and structures and to provide public education through use and enjoyment of these resources. It was originally established as a national site on July 1, 1902 (32 Stat. 641).
