Description
This Recovery Act project will create 4 to 10 jobs during the spring and summer of 2010 and will employ local residents in Nevada. This project would implement the route designations identified in the Black Rock Desert High Rock Canyon Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area Resource Management Plan (RMP). The RMP identified open and closed routes, including seasonal closures. The joint objectives of the BLM and a recipient of this federal financial assistance will be to 1) create jobs opportunities to stimulate the economy while indirectly benefitting the government through enhancing the transportation system in the NCA, 2) contribute to the management, protection and conservation of the NCA by providing adequate access for the reasonable use and enjoyment of the conservation area while protecting the unique and nationally important historical, cultural, paleontological, scenic, scientific, biological, educational, wildlife, riparian, wilderness, endangered species, and recreational values and resources associated with the NCA.
