Instructional Techniques for Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (ITNTA)
Up one levelThe Instructional Techniques for Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (ITNTA) is a three and a half day Center Advanced train-the-trainer program. It is designed to provide information and training in the safe use of non-lethal training ammunition and in developing use of force scenario-based training for agency firearms instructors.
This program is designed to be conducted in the field (Export) at any federal, state or local law enforcement agency’s training facility. Exporting this program to field sites makes the training more accessible to Non-Lethal Training Instructors and allows them to better understand NLTA applications in training utilizing their existing facilities.

Instructors
Instructors assigned to coordinate and work with these programs have a significant background in law enforcement/military and special weapons training. The instructional staff includes personnel from federal, military, state and municipal law enforcement agencies. All instructors assigned to teach in these programs attend special instructor training programs in the disciplines assigned.
Prerequisites for Attendance
For acceptance into this program, the applicant must meet the following criteria: pass a FLETC health screening; is an agency designated firearms or use of force instructor who has graduated from an instructor training program as an instructor; and currently serving as a full-time law enforcement officer. The Program Manager recommends that the applicant be a graduate of an instructor development course offered by recognized training academies. The applicant should be highly motivated to attend and have a minimum of one year experience as either a firearms or use of force instructor, with sufficient knowledge of agency and job requirements to effectively formulate and evaluate training program objectives.
