ED.gov is the main website of the U.S. Department of Education (ED).

ED administers some 200 programs, publishes many reports annually, and maintains thousands of web pages. One major goal of ED.gov is to help you find things and accomplish whatever you came to ED.gov to do.

To that end, we have created a set of "top tasks"—shortcuts to accomplishing what you, ED.gov visitors, identified in 2008 as the most important tasks you hope to do at ED.gov. We've also improved the search and frequently asked questions.

Program information can be looked for several ways. You can sort ED programs by title, subject, assistance type, or eligibility. You'll see the purpose, funding status, eligibility, regulations, guidance, and contacts for each program in an easy-to-use format.
