Dominick Braccio Selected as Assistant Director for Glynco Training at the FLETC

GLYNCO, GA – Connie L. Patrick, Director, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), announced the selection of Dominick Braccio as the new Assistant Director of the Glynco Training Directorate. Braccio has oversight for providing leadership and direction to the training divisions at the headquarters facility in Glynco, Ga., near Brunswick.

“We are extremely fortunate to have someone with Dominick Braccio’s rich background joining the management team at the FLETC,” said FLETC Director Patrick. “His 31 years of law enforcement experience at the Federal, state and local level will be most beneficial in the FLETC’s mission of training those who protect the Homeland.”

Braccio has served the FLETC for the last two years as the Chief of the Behavioral Science Division. His prior law enforcement service includes 22 years as a Special Agent with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Braccio culminated his DEA career as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Academy in Quantico, Va., where he had management oversight for all Leadership, Tactical, Undercover Operations, Financial Investigations, Clandestine Laboratories and Narco-Terrorism training. During that time, he also served as the DEA’s Chief of International Training and provided training for 87 foreign offices. He was responsible for training all DEA Sensitive Investigative Units and the newly formed police units in Iraq and Afghanistan. Braccio also spent seven years in Pennsylvania as a law enforcement officer, where he served as a patrol sergeant, detective and motorcycle officer.

Braccio earned a bachelor of science degree in Criminal Justice from West Chester University in West Chester, Pa., and a master’s degree in Adult Education and Development from the University of Virginia. He was an adjunct faculty instructor for the University of Virginia which provided training at the FBI National Academy and he served as a guest instructor at The Citadel Military College and Clemson University. Braccio is a co-author of the DEA International Training Handbook.   

Braccio is a recipient of the DEA Administrator’s Award, which is the highest DEA award. He has also received a commendation from the FBI Director.

The FLETC trains the majority of Federal officers and agents.  In addition to providing training to over 80 Federal partner organizations, the FLETC also provides training to state, local, tribal and international police in selected advanced programs; graduates over 65,000 students annually; and is the largest law enforcement training organization in the country.

Headquartered on a 1600-acre campus at Glynco, the FLETC also operates facilities in Artesia, N.M.; Charleston, S.C.; and Cheltenham, Md.  Additionally, the FLETC has oversight responsibility on behalf of the Department of Homeland Security for the International Law Enforcement Academies at Gaborone, Botswana; and San Salvador, El Salvador.
