Elder Abuse Training Program (EATP)
Up one levelThis 1-day course is designed to increase the effectiveness of those law enforcement professionals that respond to crimes related to the abuse of older adults.
Participants attending this program will learn about various elder abuse related topics such as: Financial Exploitation, Neglect, Physical Abuse of Older Adults, Interviewing Older Adults, Sexual Abuse of Older Adults and Statutes and Remedies.
The students attending this course represent law enforcement, prosecution, advocacy, adult protective services, courts, probation and any other agencies providing services or support to older adults.
Who Should Attend?
Applicants must be state, local, campus, or tribal criminal justice professionals, prosecutors, advocates, adult protective service employees, and any other groups that provide services, in concert with law enforcement, to older adults. The participants should have a working understanding of domestic violence issues as this course is specifically focused on domestic violence toward older adults.
