To support the exhibition Latina/o Visual Imaginary: Intersection of Word & Image and related catalogue. New work by artists Pepon Osorio (Puerto Rico) and Chicana artist/writer Amalia Mesa-Bains will explore narrative interactions between text and image; the work of additional Latina/o artists Yreina Cervantez, Viva Paredes, Spain Rodriguez, Elena Baca, Kai Margarida-Ramirez, and Jose Montoya will be exhibited to support the visual, verbal, and textual nature of the exhibit.

To support Aspect: The Chronicle of New Media Art, a bi-annual DVD publication of works of time-based contemporary art. Two volumes titled Hi-Tech and Africa will each present five to ten time-based works accompanied by audio commentary by a curator or critic. Hi-Tech will survey artists who have adapted emerging technologies to suit their artistic goals, and Africa will focus on new media work that offers a better understanding of the multitude of cultures existing on the continent.

To support the presentation of Marfa's 2011 exhibition series. The World According to New Orleans, curated by Dan Cameron will interpret the art of New Orleans through the work of seven artists who live and work in the city and whose careers span a half-century; the film West of East, North of South by film and video artist Meredith Danluck will be the centerpiece of an exhibition by the same name that will include newly-commissioned works by visual artists and literary writers invited to respond to the film.

To support the exhibitions Born Again and In Progress: Works Re/Created at Longwood Gallery. Born Again, by Bronx-based multidisciplinary artist Nicolás Dumit Estevez, deals with migration and cultural assimilation. Curated by Wanda Raimundi-Ortiz, In Progress: Works Re/Created will ask selected artists to utilize objects that are normally discarded or recycled to create new work exploring themes of culture, migration, and the politics of gender, and race.

To support the exhibition Now is the Moment for Ink: Contemporary Chinese Ink Painting In America, with related catalogue and public programs. A survey of the development and flourishing of the ink painting tradition in the United States, the exhibition is being collaboratively organized by and exhibited at the galleries of the Chinese Cultural Center and San Francisco State University, and will be accompanied by a scholarly catalogue and education programs and is expected to tour to Sweden.
