AIDSinfo is a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) project that offers the latest federally approved information on HIV/AIDS clinical research, treatment and prevention, and medical practice guidelines for people living with HIV/AIDS, their families and friends, health care providers, scientists, and researchers. Clinical Trials: AIDSinfo offers information on federally and privately funded clinical trials for AIDS patients and others infected with HIV. AIDS clinical trials evaluate experimental drugs and other therapies for adults and children at all stages of HIV infection - from patients who are HIV positive with no symptoms to those with various symptoms of AIDS. Medical Guidelines: AIDSinfo serves as the main dissemination point for federally approved HIV treatment and prevention guidelines, AIDSinfo provides information about the current treatment regimens for HIV infection and AIDS-related illnesses, including the prevention of HIV transmission from occupational exposure and mother-to-child transmission during pregnancy. LactMed is peer-reviewed and fully referenced database of drugs to which breastfeeding mothers may be exposed. Other information about prescription drugs may also be available. NLM regularly processes data files uploaded from FDA's system and provides and maintains this Web site for the public to use in accessing the information.

The Dietary Supplements Labels Database contains information on the ingredients of over 2,000 brands of dietary supplements sold in the U.S. and is designed to help not only researchers, but the large audience of supplement consumers as well. While consumer-oriented information about dietary supplements is available from many sources, this database consolidates and centralizes the information that consumers require to make informed decisions about supplements and provides direct links to pertinent health information, fact sheets, research findings and on-going clinical studies at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)

The Hazardous Substances Databank covers the toxicity and biomedical effects of chemicals. It focuses on the toxicology of potentially hazardous chemicals. It is enhanced with information on human exposure, industrial hygiene, emergency handling procedures, environmental fate, regulatory requirements, and related areas. All data are referenced and derived from a core set of books, government documents, technical reports and selected primary journal literature. HSDB is peer-reviewed by the Scientific Review Panel (SRP), a committee of experts in the major subject areas within the data bank's scope. HSDB is organized into individual chemical records, and contains over 5000 such records

PubMed, available via the NCBI Entrez retrieval system, was developed by the National Library of Medicine (NLM), located at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). Entrez is the text-based search and retrieval system used at NLM for services PubMed provides access to citations from biomedical literature. LinkOut provides access to full-text articles at journal Web sites and other related Web resources. The primary component of PubMed is MEDLINE. MEDLINE is the NLM's premier bibliographic database that contains references to journal articles in the life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine. A distinctive feature of MEDLINE is that the records are indexed with NLM's Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). The database contains citations from 1950 to the present, with some older material.

PubChem contains the chemical structures of small organic molecules and information on their biological activities. It was developed by the National Library of Medicine of the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) to support the Molecular Libraries and Imaging component of the NIH Roadmap Initiative. PubChem's chemical structure database may be searched on the basis of descriptive terms, chemical properties, and structural similarity. When possible, PubChem's chemical structure records are linked to other NCBI databases. These include the PubMed scientific literature database, for example, and NCBI's protein 3D structure database. PubChem also contains the results of high-throughput biological screening experiments.

The NIAID anti-HIV / OI Chemical Compound Database. This database contains over 159,500 compounds that have been tested against HIV, HIV enzymes or opportunistic pathogens. this database can be searched by chemical name or synonym, chemical or therapeutic class, the company that has tested or is developing the compound, CAS number, NSC number, molecular formula, or molecular weight.All compounds are linked to the Anti-HIV in-vitro and enzyme databases as well as the anti-OI and bibliographic databases.
