Want to know more about the Library's Newspaper & Current Periodical Reading Room? Get a tour of the reading room and discover new ways of doing research using our unique collections.

This course is taught by our reference specialists and is designed as a basic introduction for researchers using the Newspaper & Current Periodical Reading Room's collections and resources. Each session includes a tour of the N&CPR Reading Room, procedures on how to locate and request materials, and using various equipment such as microfilm machines and scanners. Online databases that contain fulltext historical newspapers such as "America's Historical Newspapers," "ProQuest Historical Newspapers," and freely accessible resources like "Chronicling America," will also be discussed and demonstrated.

  • Orientations are held the last Tuesday of each month from 10-11:30 a.m.
    Seating is limited so registration is required.
