Recipient Reporting Timeline Recipients of federal contracts, grants and loans under the Recovery Act began receiving funds from federal agencies earlier this year. In October 2009, the first recipient reports on Recovery spending were due and began appearing on Recovery.gov. Reports include data such as: - Total amount of funds received - The amount of those funds that has been expended - A description of the project funded by those monies, including: - - Place of performance and; - - An estimate of the number of jobs created or saved Here is the timeline: Aug. 17, 2009: Prime recipients and designated sub-recipients that received an award of $25,000 or more of Recovery funds began registering at FederalReporting.gov, a password-protected government website set up to collect all reporting data. Federal agencies that disburse Recovery funds also began registering in order to review recipient reports. Oct. 1 to Oct.10, 2009: Prime recipients and designated sub-recipients reported data related to Recovery funds received between Feb. 17, 2009, and Sept. 30, 2009, at FederalReporting.gov. The reporting period ended at midnight on Oct. 10. Oct. 11 to Oct. 21, 2009: Prime recipients and designated sub-recipients were able to review and verify the data to ensure that it was complete and accurate. If there were any discrepancies, inconsistencies, or mistakes, the recipients had the opportunity to make corrections. Oct. 22 to Oct. 29, 2009: Federal agencies could review the data and provide comments to Recovery fund recipients. If there were any inconsistencies or anomalies in the reports, the agencies had the opportunity to notify the recipients, but the agencies could not change the reported data. Changes could only be made by recipients. Oct. 29, 2009: At midnight, FederalReporting.gov locked the system, making it impossible for recipients to make any further changes in their reports until the next reporting cycle. The data from these reports is available to the public on Recovery.gov. The next reporting period will begin Jan.1, 2010.
