Synopsis: E69927X - Additional iThenticate Services

The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to modify its current contract (NSFDACS10P1333) with iParadigms to procure additional anti-plagiarism software services (iThenticate) on a sole source basis. Under the order, the NSF Office of Inspector General will be conducting a special project to examine for plagiarism of all of the proposals that NSF has funded (roughly 11,000) during one complete calendar or fiscal year.

Specifically, iThenticate offers access to an extensive database of sources, requires minimal training, performs quickly and efficiently, and maintains the confidentiality of uploaded documents. No other product on the market, including those introduced since our initial contract, provides the breadth of content or ease of use as iThenticate.

The period of performance is the date of award through one year. The proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to sponsor with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for information purposes only.
