Did you know?

The CDC and Prevention's Blood Cancer Education Program has provided nearly $35 million to LLS and other blood cancer organizations.

Be an Advocate for LLS

The LLS Office of Public Policy (OPP), located in Washington DC, is charged with pursuing LLS's mission through advocacy aimed at government decision-makers. The OPP's goal is to influence and shape federal and state policies that accelerate the development of new treatments and enhance access to quality, affordable health care for patients living with blood cancers.

LLS encourages its volunteers, friends and other supporters to contact their elected representatives - in Congress and in state legislatures -- to share with them the impact that blood cancers have on millions of people in the United States each year and to urge responsible policies that will address the serious burdens of these diseases. As outlined in LLS's new Strategic Plan, beginning July 1 2012, the OPP will focus on high priority legislative and regulatory issues at both the federal and state levels. Please come back to visit this page -- it will be updated with information, links and resources as we embark with your help on the new strategic plan.

Questions, comments, suggestions? Contact the OPP at: advocacy@lls.org

If you are an Advocates Network member, you can update your contact information if you have not done so in awhile. If you're new to this site, register today and join the fight against blood cancers!
