  • Know the basic components of the Challenge.gov website (posting, public voting, blog page, etc.)
  • Recent changes to the Challenge.gov website

About the Presenters

Brandon Kessler is the founder and CEO of ChallengePost, a New York City-based company that serves as a platform for challenges. Current clients include the City of New York, First Lady Michelle Obama, Samsung, Thomson Reuters, the World Bank, and the federal government, which chose ChallengePost to power the government-wide challenge platform Challenge.gov.

Prior to that, Brandon founded independent record label Messenger Records, which was repeatedly singled out for its early embrace of the Internet and its creative use of grassroots promotions. Before Messenger Records and while in college, he founded a college radio promotion company and a street marketing promotion company.

Brandon holds undergraduate and MBA degrees from Columbia University.

Tammi Marcoullier is a Program Manger with GSA's Office of Citizen Services & Innovative Technologies, where she leads Challenge.gov and the Center for Excellence in Digital Government's Engagement & Outreach team. Tammi specializes in innovative practices, implementing new technology, and content strategies to create relevant and engaging content, enhance community participation and collaboration, increase social media presence, and raise brand awareness.

She has worked as a communications specialist for FEMA; advised government contracting companies in online and social media strategy; written for USA Today and The Washington Post; led video implementation at AOL; and was vice-president of a technology company that created solutions for content sharing and cross-platform collaboration. Also, she once ran a challenge contest where the prize was a job.
