USAID is committed to an evolving model of partnership with those we serve around the world.

We recognize that sustainable solutions for global challenges are a joint effort with the countries we work in, partners of all sizes, citizens, and the wider development community.

We’re passionate about challenging conventional wisdom to create new ways to work directly with local entrepreneurs, civil society organizations and partner country governments.

Through programs like the Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) fund, we're harnessing the power of collaboration and investing in game-changing ideas across regions and sectors:

  • In Afghanistan a DIV seed grant will enable Purdue University to help protect farmers' incomes through advanced grain storage.

  • In Nepal a DIV grant combined with other funding is helping develop a low-cost,  self-test that could save mothers' lives for less.

  • In Tanzania EGG-energy is bridging the “last mile” power distribution gap to bring affordable, reliable and clean energy to more people.

Strategic partnerships are the cornerstone of our work. See how you can work with us to save and improve millions of lives around the world. Contact us for more information.

USAID is open to ideas from individuals who are passionate about finding innovative solutions to support development goals.

Academics, Scientists & Innovators

In times of crisis, USAID works with a global community of humanitarian responders to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the social and economic impact of humanitarian emergencies worldwide.

Humanitarian Responders

We work together to provide help in times of natural disasters, including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, cyclones, floods, droughts, fires, pest infestations, and disease outbreaks. We also provideassistance when lives or livelihoods are threatened by catastrophes such as civil conflict, acts of terrorism, or industrial accidents. In addition to emergency assistance, we funds mitigation activities to reduce the impact of recurrent natural hazards and provides training to build local capacity for disaster management and response.
