The CFIDS Association of America is the largest and most active charitable organization dedicated to chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), also known as chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome (CFIDS). Since 1987, the Association has invested more than $29.5 million in initiatives to bring an end to the pain, disability and suffering caused by CFS. The CFIDS Association offers information and resources to patients, family members, caregivers, support groups, media professionals the general public and health care professionals. The Association focuses its resources on research, policy and communications that will advance understanding, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of CFS.
In addition to its quarterly publication, The CFIDS Chronicle (64 pages), the CFIDS Association of America publishes and distributes various informational literature about CFIDS, including "Understanding CFIDS", "Children and CFIDS" and "Choosing a Physician". A disability packet is also available, as well as a comprehensive collection of books, medical and media articles and video and audiotapes about CFIDS.
