Basic Telecom Officer Training Program (BTOTP) - Indian Police Academy

This 2-week Integrated Basic Police Training Program is designed to train new U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs and tribal telecommunication officers (dispatchers). Courses familiarize the students with the terminology, technology and resource materials that they will use on the job. Students are given training in handling emergency situations and the stress of dealing with various types of emergency situations.

Prerequisites for Attendance

The BIA sets standards for recruiting new BIA and tribal telecommunications officers. After the individuals have been selected they are sent by the BIA to the Indian Police Academy, FLETC, Artesia, NM.
