Nearly 10,000 National Health Service Corps clinicians are treating some 10.4 million people in underserved communities nationwide. We celebrate the important work of the Corps in increasing access to primary care where it’s needed most. More than 146 events are taking place in celebration of Corps Community Day. The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Students to Service Loan Repayment Program (S2S LRP) provides loan repayment assistance of up to $120,000 to medical students (MD and DO) in their last year of school in return for a commitment to provide primary health care services in eligible Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) of greatest need. The HHS Partnership Center continues to host a series of interactive conference calls discussing the benefits and provisions of the health care law, the Affordable Care Act. The Affordable Care Act Conference Calls are being held on various dates in June and July. All calls are open to the public and include a question and answer session where participants can ask HHS staff any questions. Participants are also encouraged to submit questions in advance to have answered on the calls to ACA101@hhs.gov.

The Jobs Center is a resource for primary care providers looking for jobs at NHSC sites. The site provides improved search capabilities and easier navigation, and includes more detailed information about NHSC sites. The Jobs Center is integrated with Google map technology, allowing users to schools, businesses and other amenities surrounding NHSC sites. Check out the NHSC Jobs Center and see the possibilities!

2012 Loan Repayment Conference Cancelled

The U.S. Office of Management and Budget has directed every Federal Department and Agency to review conference spending. Based on this review, HRSA had to make the tough decision to cutback on NHSC conferences. At this time, there are no additional NHSC conferences planned.
