WASHINGTON, May 22, 2012 - West Best Foods, Inc., a Las Vegas, Nev. establishment, is recalling approximately
13,776 pounds of lasagna products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The product contains soy, which is an allergen
that is not declared on the label, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The products subject to recall are: [View Labels (PDF Only)]
- 24-lb cases of "WEST BEST FOODS INC LASAGNA WITH MEAT SAUCE."
- 24-lb cases of "WEST BEST FOODS INC DELUXE BEEF LASAGNA."
The products bear the establishment number "EST. 6080" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were produced
between April 13, 2012, and May 21, 2012, and were distributed to hotels and one distributor in Las Vegas, Nev.
The problem was discovered during a routine food safety assessment and may have occurred as a result of a change in an ingredient
formulation used in the products. FSIS and the company have not received reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.
FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are
taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
Consumers and reporters with questions about the recall should contact the company's Plant Manager, Gabriel Campisi, at (702) 367-0662.
Consumers with food safety questions can "Ask Karen," the FSIS virtual representative available 24 hours a day at

Poultry Hotline 1-888-MPHotline (1-888-674-6854) is available in English and Spanish and can be reached from l0 a.m. to 4 p.m.
