Public Service Announcements

You will need media player or music player software to play the podcasts, if your computer doesn't already include one. Depending on your computer, you can download free players from various places, for example, the Windows media player Exit EPA Disclaimer . EPA doesn't endorse any particular media player software.

EPA produces public service materials including produced television and radio announcements (PSAs) and print materials. These materials are available at no cost for use by all media. Contact and/or ordering information is provided for outlets seeking further information.


Asthma Campaign
Asthma is a serious, sometimes life-threatening respiratory disease that affects the quality of life for millions of Americans. EPA has available a series of television PSAs educating people about management of environmental triggers.

"Change a Light, Change the World" Campaign
ENERGY STAR's "Change a Light, Change the World" is a national call-to-action to encourage individuals and organizations to help save energy and protect the environment through energy-efficient lighting.

Hurricanes Katrina / Rita Outreach Materials
In the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, EPA provided informational flyers on potential environmental and health issues to residents returning home. These materials were offered in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Natural disaster and weather emergency materials
Extreme natural events such as hurricanes, floods, or blizzards can directly and indirectly harm people and the environment. In addition, individuals' or communities' response to natural disasters can cause further harm. Some of the issues covered:

  • Drinking water
  • Mold
  • Sediment
  • Household hazardous waste

Plug-In To eCycling
"Recycle Your Cell Phone. It's an Easy Call" campaign encourages Americans to recycle their old cell phones, PDAs (personal digital assistants), cell phone batteries, chargers, and other accessories. Recycling cell phones saves resources and manufacturing energy and costs - meaning less pollution and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Radon Campaign
The U.S. Surgeon General notes that more than 20,000 Americans die of radon-related lung cancer each year. EPA has available a series of television PSAs educating people about avoiding radon exposure.

SmartWay's Clean and Green Transportation Campaign
The Turn Over a New Leaf campaign encourages consumers to look for the US EPA Certified SmartWay Certification mark on cars and trucks to identify the cleanest and most fuel efficient vehicles available.

Tap Water Campaign
EPA has created a series of public service announcements that water suppliers and others may use to let consumers know that there is information available about their tap water.  These PSAs are available in print and audio formats, as well as in both English and Spanish.
