Anthology Submissions to Operation Homecoming

Troops and their families submitted more than 1,200 stories, personal narratives, poems, emails, and letter to the Operation Homecoming initiative.  Due to space considerations, only 89 submissions could be included in Operation Homecoming: Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Home Front in the Words of U.S. Troops and Their Families, the anthology published by Random House Publishing Group and edited by Andrew Carroll.  As a result, many fine pieces had to be left out.  Below are some of those submissions.

In addition, all of the writings shared with the Operation Homecoming initiative will be included in the Library of Congress Veterans History Project, a public record of first-hand accounts by U.S. Veterans.
