ORI Updates

We thank John Galland for his service during at the Office of Research Integrity.

One can imagine a graduate student or post-doctoral fellow engaging in questionable research practices due to perceived expectencies from the principal investigator. Do these people convince themselves that what they're doing is not wrong?  Is it possible that some researchers lie to themselves about engaging in questionable practices? What do you think?

ORI found that Dr. Marc Hauser engaged in research misconduct in research supported by National Center for Research Resources, National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, and National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).

ORI found that Shane Mayack engaged in research misconduct by falsifying data in two published papers .

ORI found that the Mepur Ravindranath  engaged in research misconduct by falsifying results reported for research supported by U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) grants R21 CA107316 and R03 CA107831, in progress reports for those grants and in two publications in scientific journals
