USAID partners with organizations through a grant or cooperative agreement (also referred to as "grants" or "assistance") or a contract, depending on the type of work and the Agency's involvement. 

A grant or contract arrangement includes pre-agreed deliverables, indicators and results, costs, and regulations to achieve high impact whilst keeping administrative costs low.  

We expect our development partners to act in the spirit of partnership while delivering effective and sustainable development solutions for beneficiaries in the countries we work in worldwide.
