Check Out the New National Domestic Violence Awareness Month Website

Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2012: Mourn, Celebrate, ConnectAs advocates across the country come together this October to observe National Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), they can count on the Domestic Violence Awareness Project website as their one stop shop for ideas and resources to support their ongoing public education and awareness efforts.

Family Violence Prevention and Services Program grantee, the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence, redesigned their website to continue providing current, relevant and user-friendly information and tools to assist advocates in community-based programs, state coalitions and other national organizations in planning and implementing DVAM events. The website provides a variety of teaching tools, sample forms and templates, media related publications, webinars and audio recordings, and artwork files. It also includes a history of DVAM, various campaign ideas with instructional handouts for event replication, an online store to purchase awareness materials, and a searchable events database that allows advocates to share their events.

For a guided-tour of website highlights, advocates can watch a short promotional video from the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence. For questions or more information, please contact Kenya Fairley, NRCDV Director of Programs at kfairley@nrcdv.org.
