Classroom Wear

The wearing of the FLETC issued training uniform, including those articles associated with physical training, is NOT authorized off-Center.

The personal appearance presented by students reflects not only upon the Center and the organizations students represent, but also upon the law enforcement profession and the United States Government. Therefore, each student has the responsibility to observe the minimum standards of personal dress outlined below.

Basic Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) Students

On the first day of class, and at other designated times (approximately five days) throughout the program including interviewing, mock trials and graduation, male students will wear a dress shirt, tie, and appropriate slacks and suit coat; females will wear a skirt or dress slacks, and blouse, pantsuit, or dress. Normal classroom and field training attire will consist of the fatigue uniform issued at FLETC which will be worn in a manner prescribed by Center regulations. The fatigue uniform will be worn to Criminal Investigator classes at all times other than those designated times for civilian dress. Weather conditions in south Georgia are unpredictable, rain gear is advised.

Basic Police Students (UPTP), Land Management Police Training (LMPT), Customs and Border Protection (CBPI), Immigration and Customs Enforcement Deportation (ICE_D) Students

On the first day of class, and at other designated times throughout the program including graduation, students will wear the "Class A" or dress uniform of their agency, without leather and weapons. These students should be familiar with their agencies regulations relating to care and proper wearing of the uniform. Normal classroom and field training attire will consist of the fatigue uniform issued at FLETC which will be worn in the manner prescribed by Center regulations.

Students who were not issued their agency "Class A" uniforms or who normally do not serve in a uniformed capacity will, on the occasions calling for "Class A" uniforms, conform to the dress standard for Basic Criminal Investigator students.

Back Pack

For Basic Students it is recommended that the student bring a back pack for transporting text books, materials, etc. Some Basic programs provide backpacks, check with the sponsoring agency.

Advanced Students

Appropriate attire will consist of relaxed office (shirts must have a collar) or dress apparel as dictated by the activities of the course. Jogging suits, jeans, tee-shirts, shorts, tank tops, "flip-flops", and similar leisure wear are not authorized for training use; denim jeans are acceptable only in lab or field exercises calling for rough wear or exposure to soil, chemicals, etc. In some Advanced programs, students will receive FLETC or agency-issued fatigue uniforms, which will be worn in accordance with Center regulations. On special occasions, such as graduations, all Advanced students are required to wear appropriate business dress, including coat and tie for male students.

The wearing of the FLETC issued training uniform, including those articles associated with physical training, is NOT authorized off-Center, unless authorized by the Program Manager.
