ICD-10 MS-DRG Conversion Project

This section provides information on the project for using the General Equivalence Mappings (GEMs) to convert the draft MS-DRGs v29.0 to ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS. Information is also provided on undertaking a similar conversion project.

The updated draft ICD-10-CM/PCS MS-DRG V29 Definitions Manual is provided below along with the previous ICD-10 ICD-10-CM/PCS MS-DRG V28 Definitions Manual and the (R1 version updated October 4, 2011). The Final ICD-10 MS-DRG logic will be subject to rulemaking.

(Based on public comments CMS decided to provide the public with an updated version of the ICD-10 MS-DRGs v28.0 (FY 2011) software. CMS believes this software will allow the public to more easily review and provide feedback on updates to the ICD-10 MS-DRGs.)
