The Office of Financial Research (OFR) is a new organization, established under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act within the Treasury Department to support the Financial Stability Oversight Council via research and analysis of the financial system’s stability. In support of this research function, the Office is empowered to collect the data required to assess, evaluate and monitor threats to financial stability. The OFR seeks to attract researchers from many different disciplines relevant to systemic risk, data management and analysis, and financial networks.
