Demuth, My Egypt The exhibition, which explored Stieglitz's role in the development of modern art in America, brought together 190 paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper that Alfred Stieglitz had shown in his New York art galleries from 1908 to 1946. The installation was organized in chronological sections presenting works shown in each of the galleries, including 291, the Anderson Galleries, the Intimate Gallery, and An American Place.
