Science Writers Symposium

Writing About the Future of Public Health 

September 10-11, 2012

FDA has scheduled its Third Science Writers Symposium, a special event for science and health journalists that will feature lab tours and scientific presentations on a variety of topics including gene therapy, neural implants, scientific computing, medical countermeasures, flu adjuvants and salmonella.  Media will be able to tailor their agenda based on topic interests. The event will feature FDA Commissioner Margaret A. Hamburg, M.D; FDA Chief Scientist Jesse Goodman, MD; Deputy FDA Commissioner for Foods Mike Taylor; plus a host of other FDA presenters.

  • Take the Capital Beltway in Maryland and exit at the following interchange.
  • Exit 25B to merge onto U.S. 1 S/Baltimore Ave toward College Park S
  • Travel approximately 3 miles on U.S. 1 S/Baltimore Ave
  • Turn left onto Paint Branch Pkwy
  • Travel approximately 1 mile on Paint Branch Pkwy
  • The CFSAN Campus will be on the right
