Consumer Protection and Public Advocacy


The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) enforces the District's consumer protection law and other public protection laws, including the District's False Claims Act and laws regarding charitable solicitations, nonprofit organizations, antitrust, and tobacco products. 

To reach the Consumer Protection Hotline, call (202) 442-9828 or email consumer.protection@dc.gov. The office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm.

Consumers are encouraged to submit their complaints using the Consumer Complaint Form.
