Patricia Brown, Regional Administrator, Region VII (Kansas City)

Ms. Brown was named the Region VII Administrator for the Administration for Children and Families in August, 2007.  Shortly afterwards in September, 2007, Ms. Brown was appointed the Acting Director for the National Office of Head Start.  She served in this position for a little over 2 years and returned to the Region VII Administrator position in November 2009.

Ms. Brown has more than 37 years of experience working with vulnerable children and families.  She began her federal career in 1993 with the Administration for Children and Families and has had leadership and supervisory responsibilities for all State and Tribal programs including, Child Welfare, Child Care, Child Support Enforcement, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and Developmental Disabilities and community programs including Head Start/Early Head Start and Runaway and Homeless Youth programs.

Prior to her federal employment, she worked for 19 years with the Missouri Department of Social Services as the Child Welfare Director for the Kansas City Division of Family Services.

Ms. Brown is a graduate of Louisiana State University.
