This is a pilot program developed by the Rural Assistance Center (RAC) and the National Rural Health Resource Center, with funding provided by the Office of Rural Health Policy (ORHP).

What is the Rural HIT Taskforce?

HIT is a priority of the President’s Rural Health Initiative. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius established the Rural HIT Taskforce to address challenges facing rural communities in adopting HIT and achieving meaningful use. The taskforce offers ways for rural communities to meet challenges and coordinate federal resources. The taskforce is co-chaired by HRSA Administrator Dr. Mary Wakefield and Dr. Farzad Mostashari, National Coordinator for HIT.
