Buy Savings Bonds

The End of Paper Savings Bonds - As of January 1, 2012,  we stopped selling paper savings bonds through over-the-counter channels. This will save an estimated $70 million over the next five years.

Savings bonds are sold on-line at a different website, TreasuryDirect.gov, which is managed by the Bureau of Public Debt. These suggested links are for your convenience and take you to the TreasuryDirect.gov site.

Log in to your existing Treasury Direct account.

Create a Treasury Direct account now - You will need your Social Security number and a bank account number as well as the routing number.
