Mark Lambert

Mark W. Lambert was selected as the Director of the office of Internal Oversight and Compliance (IOC) at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in January 2010. As the Director of IOC, Mark oversees OPM's many program offices holding officials accountable for operating effectively and efficiently in accordance with applicable policy, regulations and other criteria as further defined by the Director of OPM.

Mark started his career at OPM in 1989 as a staff auditor in the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Mark progressed through the ranks of the OIG obtaining over 12 years of financial and performance auditing experience.

In 2002, Mark joined the Office of Combined Federal Campaign Operations (OCFCO) within OPM as its first Senior Compliance Officer and established a compliance office to oversee the hundreds of local CFCs administered across the country to ensure their compliance with laws, regulations and OPM guidance. In January 2008, Mark was selected to the Senior Executive Service and as the Director of the OCFCO. The CFC is the Federal government employees' workplace fundraising program which annually provides approximately 4 million Federal employees the opportunity to contribute to thousands of participating charities located across the nation and overseas. During the 2008 campaign year, over 1 million Federal employees contributed nearly $276 million to charities through the CFC.

Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Shepherd College in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. In 2008, Mark graduated from the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, VA and is a member of the Federal Executive Institute Alumni Association. Mark is also a member of the Senior Executive Association, Institute of Internal Auditors and the Association of Government Accountants.
