On June 22, 2009, First Lady Michelle Obama officially kicked off United We Serve -- a call to all Americans to join a volunteer effort this summer and be part of building a new foundation for America, one community at a time. The initiative is led by the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency dedicated to fostering service in communities across the country. Learn more at Serve.gov.
