At 8:45 a.m. ET, Miller will join Harold Martin, chancellor of NC A&T; Maurice “Mo” Green, superintendent of Guildford County Schools; Stacey Alston, principal of the STEM Early College and area business leaders in welcoming students on their first day of classes. The new school, Guilford County’s second early college, will provide an interdisciplinary approach using critical thinking skills for highly motivated, high-performing students with an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. It will serve 50 ninth-grade students in its initial year, building a new class of ninth graders in subsequent years.
