The American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) and the U.S. General Services Administration jointly hosted Acquisition Excellence 2012 to provide a collaborative forum to discuss and develop actionable ideas on federal information technology (IT) acquisition, policy, and program management issues in this challenging budget environment.  After GSA celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Interagency Resources Management Conference (IRMCO), it was decided to move to a one day, more focused format for the next generation of IRMCO.  GSA selected ACT-IAC to serve as its trusted partner to jointly host the Acquisition Excellence 2012 with the goal of continuing the dialogue between government and industry on key issues surrounding federal IT acquisition, policy and program management.  More than 500 government and industry executives attended this education and training program.

Featured speakers included:

  • Martha Johnson, Administrator, General Services Administration
  • Iris Cooper, Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Lesley Field, Deputy Administrator for Federal Procurement Policy, Office of Management and Budget/Office of Federal Procurement Policy
  • Daniel Gordon, Associate Dean, Government Procurement Law Studies, George Washington University Law School
