A dazzling new headquarters building for the U.S. Coast Guard is nearing completion across the Potomac River from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. This 1.3 million square foot complex, designed by Chicago-based Perkins + Will, marks the first phase of the creation of a headquarters campus for the entire Department of Homeland Security.
National Capital Region teams with the National Museum of Civil War Medicine to establish a Clara Barton Office of Missing Soldier's Museum.
Each year federal agencies donate hundreds of computers and equipment to local schools and eligible community groups. These donations are facilitated through GSA's Computers for Learning Program, which provides excess computer equipment to public, private or parochial schools.
GSA's Office of Small Business Utilization recently completed its Business Breakthrough workshop series with a stop in Washington, DC. The sold-out session generated a waiting list of 37 hopeful guests.
Earning the ENERGY STAR certification means the building meets strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA.
