Purpose

This Notice is intended to clarify instructions for Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) PAR-11-176, “High-Throughput-Enabled Structural Biology Partnerships (U01).”

Corrections to Section IV part 2, “Content and Form of Application Submission” of the FOA:

• The Budget section is not part of the PHS 398 Research Plan Component as stated in the FOA. All budget information should be included as described in the SF424 (R&R) Application Guide. The instruction that states "a single overall project budget should be presented on form page 4 and a budget for the entire proposed period of support on form page 5" is incorrect and may be ignored.
  
• The requirements for a Management Plan, Recruitment and Retention Plan and an Intellectual Property Statement remain. However, they are not part of the PHS 398 Research Plan Component as stated in the FOA. Instead, each of these files should be included in the “Other Attachments” section (item 12) of the R&R Other Project Information component using the following file names: Management_Plan.pdf, Recruitment_and_Retention_Plan.pdf and Intellectual_Property_Statement.pdf.
  
• For Multiple PD/PI applications, the Multiple PD/PI Leadership Plan should be included as a separate attachment in item 12 of the PHS 398 Research Plan component, not as a subheading of the Management Plan as stated in the FOA.

All other aspects of the FOA remain unchanged.
