U.S. Under Secretary of Education Martha Kanter will participate in a "Campus Leadership and Stakeholders Roundtable" at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) Tuesday in Alexandria, Va., to discuss NOVA's Credentials to Careers program, which received a Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College Career Training (TAACCCT) grant. The event will bring together crucial stakeholders, including NOVA campus leadership, community-based organizations and local employers, to discuss the design and development of the NOVA program.

Kanter will offer brief remarks outlining the Education Department's higher education work and will facilitate a discussion with participants.

The TAACCCT Initiative is an historic $2 billion investment from the Obama administration that is administered by the Department of Labor in partnership with the Department of Education. Over $1 billion has been awarded to support community colleges in their development and expansion of evidence-based programs with a strong connection to industry. This initiative is part of a larger effort to achieve President Obama's national goal to once again lead the world in college completion by 2020. Details about the Education Department's college completion efforts can be found here.
