The Adolescent Family Life (AFL) enacted in 1981 as Title XX of the Public Health Service Act (P.L.97-35) program funds demonstration projects that develop, implement, and evaluate innovative strategies to address issues related to adolescent pregnancy, as well as research on the causes and consequences of adolescent pregnancy.
The Title XX Adolescent Family Life Program is administered within the OASH OPA by the Office of Adolescent Pregnancy Programs (OAPP). In Fiscal Year 2011, Congress appropriated approximately $12.4 million for the program.
