What We Do

The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) provides new populations with the opportunity to maximize their potential in the United States. Our programs provide people in need with critical resources to assist them in becoming integrated members of American society.


Collaborations & Partnerships

ORR collaborates with numerous offices to better serve those in need. Our partners include Federal Agencies, Mutual Assistance Associations, State Partners and Voluntary Agencies.


Leadership

Eskinder Negash was appointed Director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement in May 2009.  He brings nearly 30 years of experience working on behalf of refugees, asylees, and other vulnerable populations.


History

U.S. policy allows refugees of special humanitarian concern entrance into our country, reflecting our core values and our tradition of being a safe haven for the oppressed.
