Description: As part of the Flu + You campaign in Tampa, the WCFAAA will host an educational event and flu clinic at the Town N Country Senior Center. Maureen Kelly, President and CEO of the WCFAAA, Adewale Troutman, MD, MPH, Executive Director, Public Health Practice, Leadership, University of South Florida, College of Public Health and President-elect of the American Public Health Association (APHA), Alice Horton, RN, SCHN, Adult Immunization Outreach Coordinator of the Hillsborough County Health Department, will present to older adults about influenza prevention strategies, including vaccination for their age group. Description: The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) will be hosting a Flu Season Awareness Night at the Washington Nationals Baseball Game! Flu Awareness Night activities include: NFID public service announcement (“Are You That Guy?”) will be featured on the jumbotron 30 minutes before the game; a welcome message on the scoreboard; reserved group of discounted field level seats available via customized online purchase page (www.nationals.com/flu) with a portion of ticket sales being donated to NFID; and staff at the community kiosk distributing educational materials and vouchers for flu vaccines at Harris Teeter stores.
