CAPT Scott Gaustad, PT, MPT, GCS, SCS, CSCS, CCHP is a United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Officer serving at the Whiteriver Indian Health Hospital. He is a board certified orthopedic, geriatric and sports clinical specialist with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). CAPT Gaustad is also a board certified wound care specialist, strength and conditioning specialist and correctional health care professional.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Certified Wound Specialists.  CAPT Gaustad’s clinical roles and interests have led him to belong to several sections of the APTA which include Orthopedic, Hospital Policy and Administration, Electrophysiology and Wound Management, Federal, and Education.  He is an active participant in the APTA’s Health Promotion and Wellness, Foot and Ankle, and Balance and Falls Special Interest Groups.  CAPT Gaustad is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, National Strength and Conditioning Association, and American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.

CAPT Gaustad received his Bachelor of Science and Master’s in Physical Therapy degrees from Northern Arizona University. He was commissioned in the United States Public Health Service in 1995.  He began his Indian Health Service career at the Whiteriver Indian Hospital in 2006.  His main clinical interests are in advanced wound care and health promotion and disease prevention.

CAPT Gaustad is also interested in networking and/or establishing dialogue with anyone who is interested in raising the health of American Indian or Alaska Native Peoples through the utilization of physical or occupational therapies, speech-language pathology, and Audiology services.
