RS&G: NHLBI DNA Resequencing and Genotyping Program

Program Description

The NHLBI established the RS&G Program in 2004 to offer custom DNA resequencing and genotyping services at no charge to approved investigators seeking to identify the specific regions of the genome involved in the cause, variable outcome, and progression of heart, lung, and blood diseases and disorders.

From 2004 to 2010, the Laboratory Centers were:

  • Resequencing - University of Washington (Deborah A. Nickerson, PI)
  • Resequencing - J. Craig Venter Institute (Sam Levy, PI 2004-2009; Ewen F. Kirkness, PI 2009-2010)
  • Genotyping - Johns Hopkins University (Alan F. Scott, PI).

For 2011 to 2015, the Laboratory Center is:

  • University of Washington (Deborah A. Nickerson and Mark Rieder, PIs).

The NHLBI Program Officer for the RS&G Service is Deborah Applebaum-Bowden, Ph.D.
