The establishment of the FirstNet Board represents an important milestone in the implementation of the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network, and today, I had the privilege of joining my fellow board members at the inaugural meeting to provide our nation’s first responders with a dedicated communications network to help them share information and communicate during emergency situations.

Today, I was honored to join 225 individuals, representing 69 different nations, as they took the Oath of Allegiance to become U.S. citizens at the National Archives, in the heart of our nation’s capital. We also honored the 225th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution and recognize the rights and freedoms it guarantees.
