National Asthma Education and Prevention Program Resolution on Asthma Management at School
The National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) believes that a healthy student is a student ready to learn. Asthma-friendly schools are those that make the effort to create safe and supportive learning environments for students with asthma. They have policies and procedures that allow students to successfully manage their asthma. Chances for success are better when the whole school community takes part--school administrators, teachers, and staff, as well as students and parents. This resolution details specific and highly desirable policy actions for schools. 2 pages. It can be used to guide state and local school policies. Updated November 2005.
