Up one levelThis 16-week Integrated Basic Police Training Program, designed for U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and tribal law enforcement officers, provides instruction on Ethics and Conduct, Stress, Conflict Management, Narcotics, Collection and Preservation of Evidence, Officer Safety and Survival, Criminalistics, Civil Rights, Search and Seizure, Detention and Arrest, Indian County Law, and BIA specialized training. Other basic law enforcement subjects include Driver, Firearms and Physical Training Programs.

Prerequisites for Attendance
The BIA sets its standards for recruiting new BIA and tribal law enforcement officers. After the individuals have been selected, they are sent by the BIA to the Indian Police Academy, FLETC, Artesia, New Mexico.
