The QIC-DR supports knowledge development on the effectiveness of differential response in child welfare services. After identifying knowledge gaps and research priorities, the QIC-DR now supports three research and demonstration sites that are implementing and evaluating differential response.

The QIC-DR also supports dissertation research and the development of a dissemination process that will provide the latest data to practitioners, policymakers, administrators, and researchers.

GOAL

Generate knowledge on effective practice models of differential response in child protective systems (CPS) through supporting rigorous research in three research and demonstration sites implementing and evaluating this system reform

HOW WE HELP

  • Develop knowledge about improving outcomes for children and families in the child welfare system by implementing differential response CPS models
  • Promote collaborative problem-solving among the research and demonstration sites as well as doctoral students receiving dissertation support
  • differential response research and evaluation in the research and demonstration sites that analyzes implementation, outcomes, and costs
  • Establish a national network to share information on promising practices and lessons learned
