    •  The Freedom’s Flame 9/11 Memorial Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to building identical bi-coastal memorials, one for the east coast and one for the west coast. The memorial was designed by renowned architect William Lecky, designer of the Korean War Veteran’s Memorial and one of the architects of record for the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial, both on the National Mall in Washington D.C. Freedom’s Flame is also in possession of over 16 tons of steel that were once part of the World Trade Center, a fire truck that was used at Ground Zero, a piece of The Pentagon, and pieces of United Airlines Flight 93. Please visit our Facebook page for more information.

  15. The Checkers Speech -- 23 September 1952

"One other thing I probably should tell you, because if I don’t they will probably be saying this about me, too. We did get something, a gift, after the election….

You know what it was? It was a li...
ttle cocker spaniel dog … black and white, spotted, and our little girl Tricia, the six year old, named it Checkers. And you know, the kids, like all kids, loved the dog, and I just want to say this, right now, that regardless of what they say about it, we’re going to keep it."
